WATERVILLE ROWING CLUB

the club travelled to Castle Connell, head of the river on Saturday 27 October. Well done to all who competed- Ciarán O’Connell who came 2nd and Jane O’Connor who came 3rd in the U-14 singles. The Under 15 quad girls did very well in a their first competitiv­e race- Jane O’Connor, Aoife Murphy, Jessica O’Neill and Chloe Goggin and their cox Brian O’Connell cox. Thanks and well done to their coach Peter Hussey.

Next regatta is Skibbereen head of the river on 19th November

ANIMATION WORKSHOP

FunWorksho­ps on digital animation and scratch computer programmin­g in the Cahersivee­n Library. November 3rd and 17th from 10am-3pm.Suitable for 4th, 5th and 6th class students. They are extremelyp­opular workshops and spaces are limited. If any student is interested in attending can they please contact the Library as soon as possible on 0669472287 to register their place.

WWI MEMORIAL SERVICE-

On Sunday November 11th, the 100th anniversar­y of Armistice Day that ended World War One, a memorial service will be held for the fifty or so killed, and those that served in that conflict from this region.

The special ecumenical service will be held in St. Michael and All Angels Church in Waterville at 10.30am. A special memorial Plaque to those killed will be unveiled following memorial service. All are welcome
