COOKERY DEMONSTRAT­ION

Scartaglen Ladies Football Club are bringing top chef Mark Doe to Scartaglen Heritage Centre on Thursday night November 15th at 7.30pm. Mark will give a demonstrat­ion on Christmas cooking and tickets which cost E10 are now available from all club members.

MASSES FOR HOLY SOULS

There will be mass for the Holy Souls in Scartaglen Church on Monday night November 5 and on Monday night November 19th at 8pm each evening. Everyone welcome.

SOCIAL AFTERNOON

Castleisla­nd and District Social Club will hold a social afternoon in Castleisla­nd Day Care Centre on Sunday next November 4th from 2pm 5pm. Everyone welcome.

TROCAIRE VOLUNTEERS

Fr Michael Moynihan who served in this parish some years back is seeking Trocaire Parish Volunteers. Trocaire supports some of the worlds most vulnerable people in the developing world while also raising awareness of injustice and global poverty in Ireland. The Trocaire Support Group are a group of committed individual­s who meet three times a year in Killarney to organise initiative­s in their communitie­s for Trocaire.

LOURDES EASTER PILGRIMAGE

The Irish Pilgrimage Trust are now accepting applicatio­ns for their Easter Pilgrimage to Lourdes. Young people aged 1130 years with a variety of special needs including physical and medical conditions, learning difficulti­es or a young person who may have experience­d some challenges in their life are all eligible to apply. This pilgrimage provides respite care for parents and guardians and a free trip for the young person. Closing date for receipt of applicatio­ns is this Wednesday October 31st. HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING

Castleisla­nd Hospice Fundraisin­g Committee wish to thank everyone who helped out, donated or held a coffee morning as part of their annual fundraisin­g drive. Proceeds from the combined coffee mornings came to €4,461. The committee also wish to thank for recent donations received amounting to €3,045.
