The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)

Thank you to Pieta for all the support

- BY SINEAD KELLEHER

THE Kidney family in Kenmare have handed over almost €3,000 to Pieta House in memory of 16-year old Sasha Kidney who tragically died by suicide.

The money was raised as part of Pieta House’s ‘Feel Good Week’.

Sasha’s parents, Tina and Sean, and her brother and sister, Chloe and Dyllian, organised a fund-raiser two weeks ago on October 25 on what would have been Sasha’s 16th birthday.

The evening of music and fireworks helped keep Sasha’s memory alive but will also help others by giving much needed funds to Pieta House who have been a huge support to the Kidney family.

The money was presented to Con O’Connor from Pieta House last week. He said that all the money raised locally will go for services in Kerry. He said that fundraising is vital as the Government only fund 15% of their work, the rest is supported through fundraising.

Sean and Tina said that Pieta House have been a huge support the family since Sasha’s death earlier this year and they want to ensure that others can also avail of this service.

The local community have rallied around the family and they gave generously to the fundraising to raise funds for Pieta House

Pieta House Kerry is located in Tralee. The service is totally free and the contact number is 066 7163660.
