Clifford takes takes sole All Star and young player of the year gong

-

KERRY’S David Clifford was crowned Young Footballer of the Year at the gala black tie event in Dublin last Friday night.

David made his senior Championship debut this season at the tender age of 19 and carrying a weight of expectation after his stunning exploits at minor level. He made light work of that attention however, to make a seamless transition to the top flight, with his eye for scores setting him apart as something special and has landed him a PwC All-Star and Young Footballer of the Year.

Uachtarán CLG John Horan said: “In congratulating Cian [Lynch], Kyle [Hayes] and indeed Brian [Howard] and David [Clifford] for their overall awards, I am conscious of what these awards must mean to their families, friends and also the clubs who helped set all of our All-Stars out on this road, and thank PwC for helping us to continue this prestigious scheme.”

Congratulations to David, his family and all in Fossa club on this wonderful achievement. Others who were awarded this accolade were Tommy Walsh in 2008, Killian Young 2007 and Mike Frank Russell in 1997.

Our congratulations also to Crotta and Kerry player Seán Weir who was named last night on the Joe McDonagh Championship 15
