FR GALVIN CUP - Our seniors recorded a comfortable win over Scartaglin in the Fr Galvin Cup semi-final in Cordal on Sunday.

While both sides were a bit rusty at the start, when Fossa got going there was only going to be one winner. The sides were level after 13 minutes at two points apiece but then a brilliant team move resulted in Tadhg O’Shea crashing home a goal, this was followed by a goal from the penalty spot by Paudie Clifford which put some daylight between the sides. Scartaglin didn’t give up and they scored an excellent goal through Kieran Herlihy in the 26th minute to bring them back into the game, this left the half time score Fossa 2-07, Scartaglin1-03. Scart got the opening score of the second half but Fossa then took control of the game and a brace of points from Matt Rennie, Donmhaill O’Sullivan, Lorcan Daly and further goals by Paudie Clifford and Tadhg O’Shea left Fossa comfortable winners on a score of 4-16 to 1-04. Afterwards Michael O’Mahony, PRO of the East Kerry Board presented the Aquila Club Man of the Match award to Paudie Clifford.

It was a very proud moment for David, his family and a historic one for Fossa GAA Club, not only is he an All-Star footballer but he is an All-Star guy off the pitch also and we wish him continued success in the years ahead.
