MUNSTER JUNIOR LEAGUE DIVISION 3 Corca Dhuibhne 0 Killarney 36

KILLARNEY made the journey to Ballydavid with a strong squad and had too much power for the home side. Corca Dhuibhne came into the game without a number of regulars, and despite a spirited display, they had no answer to Killarney’s dominant forward division.

Killarney scored six tries in total and secured a vital bonus point in the process. The try scorers were Paul O’Sullivan, Brian Lynch, James Allman, Mike Sheehan and Aaron Jones, whilst they were also awarded a penalty try after the visitors forced Corca Dhuibhne into conceding several penalties. Oisin O’Shea added two conversions for the visitors to seal a very impressive win.

The win sees Killarney jump into third spot in the table with 15 points and if they can maintain their current form they will be in with a serious promotion shout. Corca Dhuibhne remain in 8th place in the table and will be hoping that they can turn their fortunes around when they travel to bottom side Douglas/Carrigaline on November 18.

Tralee 58 Killorglin 14

TRALEE continued on their dominant march at the top of the J3 table when they posted a very impressive victory over local rivals Killorglin last Sunday.

The victors scored nine tries in total and are playing like a side that are full of confidence as they collected their fourth win in-a-row. The display by the home side was fitting in that it honoured one of their most respected members and former President Seán Kelly of Ballyheigue, who passed away over the weekend.

Kelly also represented the club as a player and coach over number of years and was a teacher in CBS The Green in Tralee. Both the Tralee ladies and mens teams, along with their opponents, stood for a minute silence in his honour before their respective games.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a ainm. Killorglin had tries from Rob Lynch and Rodi Healy, with Lynch converting both. Killorglin will hope to get back on track when they face Bantry Bay in the Marti O’Sullivan Cup next Saturday, whilst Tralee’s next game is a away to Dungarvan on November 18.
