Kerry Group’s gift to Enable Ireland users
CHILDREN availing of services from Enable Ireland can now enjoy a new soft play area at the charity’s Tralee centre thanks to a donation from Kerry Group.
Last week saw the official opening of a new soft play area for children with disabilities at the Enable Ireland building in Tralee by Frank Hayes, the director of corporate affairs at Kerry Group.
The space will be used by pre- and after-schools groups, as well as gardening and sports groups.
Therapists at Enable Ireland will also be able to undertake some therapies outside rather than in a clinical environment.
Enable Ireland Regional Fundraising Manager Sean Scally thanked Kerry Group for the donation.
“The soft play area is something that we have been hoping to develop for a number of years now,” he said.
“We are grateful to Kerry Group for supporting the project and making the playground a reality.
“I’d also like to thank Vincent Foley and the team at Kerry County Council who helped with many aspects of the project,” said Mr Scally.
Frank Hayes said Kerry Group was delighted to support Enable Ireland and its work supporting and enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.
“It’s wonderful to see the impact that a play area like this can have on the lives of so many children and families in Kerry,” said Mr Hayes.
