CLUB AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Laune Rangers GAA Club will take place on Saturday, December 8th at 8pm in our clubrooms at JP O’Sullivan Park. Club Secretary Muireann Arthurs is not seeking re-election, so the position of Secretary will need to be filled. As always, all executive positions can be contested with the exception of those appointed by the Club. LADIES AGM: Laune Rangers Ladies AGM took place on Friday, November 16th at our clubrooms in JP O’Sullivan Park. A new Chairperso­n of the Ladies Committee was elected on the night, as Diane Hassett has taken the reigns from the outgoing Angie Donoghue. Selina O’Connor takes over from Carmel O’Brien as Secretary of the Ladies Committee – Maria Cleary remaining as Asst Sec – although we are delighted that Carmel has remained involved, stepping in to the role of registrar vacated by Selina O’Connor. Karen Foley was appointed as Child Protection Officer to replace the outgoing Gina Halliday. Laune Rangers wish to sincerely thank Angie & Gina for their service to the Club and hope to see you back in the not too distant future. We wish Diane, Selina & Karen all the best in their new roles and look forward to working with you in 2019. Many thanks to all of the Coaches that helped out at every age grade from Under 6 to Senior in 2018. We look forward to seeing you back next year. JUBILEE RACE NIGHT: Laune Rangers 25th Annual Race Night takes place in Bunkers Bar on Friday, December 28th. We are now taking entries into the race night – Horses are available to enter for €90 each with a prize of €250 for the winner of each race on the night. Each buyer can name their own Horse and, with the positions of Owner, Trainer & Jockey all to be filled, syndicates are welcome to enter a horse! Horses can be bought from Bunkers Bar, Falveys Bar, or contact pro.launerange­rs.kerry@gaa.ie for a form. GET INVOLVED: This year has barely come to a close, but planning starts immediatel­y for 2019. If any member is interested in getting involved in the club, the door is always open for new volunteers in all aspects of the Club – coaching, fundraisin­g, helping out on big match days in selling Club Lotto or operating the Scoreboard! Of course, the club is always looking for budding photograph­ers and/or journalist­s that want to gain some experience in the field.
