Garvey’s SuperValu Christmas Food Fair
GARVEY’S SuperValu in Listowel will host its annual Christmas Food Fair on Thursday, December 6 at 6pm. It promises to be another celebration of all that’s wonderful about local produce and is an ideal opportunity for customers to interact and gain an understanding of where their food is sourced and prepared. Many of Garvey’s local suppliers will be there on the night to meet customers and taste the wide range of produce available. There will also be special offers available.
A feature of the night will be well-known local culinary enthusiast, Lizzy Lyons, who will provide a cooking demo at 6:30pm. Garvey’s own in-store chef, Garry, will offer some cooking hints and tips; Italian cheese specialist, Massimo will be on hand to demonstrate the techniques involved in making mozzarella cheese, while Cronin’s Cider will offer a festive mulled cider drink to customers on entry, which can be enjoyed along with Garvey SuperValue’s very own festive mince pies. Christmas Carol singers, spot prizes and raffles will also add to the occasion, while the man himself, Santa, will be there to welcome children. It’s a festive and fun event for all the family.
“We’ll have around 15 local producers on the night showcasing their wares. It’s an event that works well as more people are interested in knowing where their food is sourced and produced. Customers will also have an opportunity to sample some of our own in-store products from the deli and bakery range,” said Paul O’Connor, Manager of Listowel Garvey’s SuperValu.
“An event such as this is an opportunity for us to say ‘thank you’ to all our loyal customers who support us throughout the year. Our customers can expect that bit extra in terms of quality when it comes to their Christmas shopping in Garvey’s. Lastly, I’d like to wish all our customers a very happy Christmas and a prosperous 2019.”
