1. TRALEE MUSICAL SOCIETY’S ‘THE WIZ’ IN SIAMSA TÍRE

TRALEE Musical Society are this week preparing for a four day showing of their brand new production, entitled ‘The Wiz’.

‘The Wiz’ will run in Siamsa Tíre from Wednesday November 28 to Saturday December 1.

Tickets are now available to buy from Siamsa by popping into the theatre itself by calling 066 7123055.

2. FASHION SHOW IN AID OF FIRST RESPONDER GROUP

EAST 73rd will host a charity fashion show in their Ballybunio­n shop on Friday November 30.

The fashion show will start at 8pm sharp; there will be wine and treats on arrival also.

Music will be by Ray Stack and tickets for the show will cost just €15 - all funds raised from the night will go towards helping to support the local First Responder Group.

3. DELIGHT AS KILLARNEY ON ICE RETURNS

IT’S one of the highlights of the festive season in Killarney and now locals can look forward to the return of Killarney on Ice this weekend.

The ice rink will run on selected dates from Friday November 30 right unp until Sunday January 6; the rink will be locaqted at the Beech Road Car Park in Killarney.

4. CHRISTMAS CAROLS IN AID OF PIETA HOUSE

A ‘CHRISTMAS Carol Extravagan­za’ in aid of Pieta House will be held in St Brendan’s Church in Tralee on the night of Sunday December 2 at 7:30pm.

The concert will feature the talents of the Oliver Hurley School of Musical Theatre along with the Siamsa Tíre National Folk Theatre Choir.

Tickets are €10 and are available from various outlets including Kerry Book Shop, St Brendan’s Parish Centre, St John’s Parish Centre, Pieta House in Moyderwell or on the door on the night.

5. AN EVENING OF SPORTS FOR RECOVERY HAVEN

THE finest names in the sporting world will descend on the Ballyroe Heights Hotel at the end of this month as they lend their support to Recovery Haven.

‘An Evening of Sporting Greats’ will take place on Friday, November 30 ,and will see GAA greats Micheál Ó Muircheart­aigh and Aidan O’Mahony; horse racing guru Ted Walsh; and Ireland’s women’s rugby captain Ciara Griffin take part in a panel on the night.

6. LOTS OF LAUGHS AT TINTEAN THEATRE

THE comedic talents of Tommy Tiernan will be on show in the Tinteán Theatre in Ballybunio­n on the night of Saturday December 8.

Tickets for this great night of comedy are available to buy from Namir’s Restaurant and from the ticketmast­er website; tickets are set to cost €30 each.

7. HERMITAGE GREEN IN THE INEC ACOUSTIC CLUB

THE brilliant Hermitage Green return to the INEC Acoustic Club next month for what promises to be another intimate and memorable performanc­e.

December 7 is the date to mark in your calendars and if last years show is anything to go by, this is not a show to be missed.

Tickets are on sale now from the INEC website and will cost just €20.

8. TRALEE SANTA 5K FUN RUN RETURNS NEXT MONTH

THE 2018 Tralee Santa 5km Fun Run is just around the corner again and will again be in memory of teenager Fiona Moore, who passed away back in 2013 at the age of 16 from Pulmonary Hypertensi­on, while waiting on a lung transplant.

This is one of the most popular running events in the season and is one which draws a huge crowd every year.

9. FESTIVE CLASSICS IN TRALEE CINEMA

THE ‘Bring it Back’ Christmas season is back in Tralee Omniplex next month and there are four great festive films to choose from .

‘The Greatest Showman’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Elf’ and ‘Home Alone’ will all show in Tralee cinema next month.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
