Young stars take to the stage

Society Youth’s production of ‘The Wiz’ - which has its opening night tonight (Wednesday November 28) - it’s safe to say that TMS has an abundance of talent ready and waiting at its fingertips.

Following on from the huge success of the groups ‘All Shook Up’ production, staged in 2017, the award winning youth group are returning to the stage at Siamsa Tíre all this week.

Adapted from the age old tale of ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’and made famous by MIchael Jackson and Diana Ross, this production has been described as “wickedly amusing”, an “energetic carnival of fun”and a show that you “definitely won’t want to miss.”

“The cast of over 50 people have been rehearsing tirelessly for the past number of months for what promises to be yet another fantastic production,” said Sean Hanafin, PRO for the TMS. “We are delighted to have award-winning director and choreograp­her, Oliver Hurley, once more at the helm along with the very talented Laura Crowley as choral director,” Sean continued.

In a brief glimpse into the future of TMS, some of the leading roles over the week will be played by Sarah Cleary, Matthew Dineen, Padraig Harrington and Marcus Nolan.

The show will staged nightly in Siamsa from Wednesday November 28 until Saturday December 1; tickets are available to buy online at Siamsa’s website or by calling 066 7123055.
