Se­ri­ous as­sault in Kenmare hous­ing es­tate

GARDAÍ are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a se­ri­ous as­sault in a hous­ing es­tate in Kenmare town on

Satur­day night.

It is un­der­stood that a num­ber of men ar­rived at the house of the vic­tim at

Lands­downe Vil­lage and be­gan to as­sault the male, who fled the scene.

Gardaí were alerted to the as­sault, and they re­sponded along with the am­bu­lance. The scene was cor­doned off and tech­ni­cally ex­am­ined.

The vic­tim’s in­juries are not un­der­stood to be life-threat­en­ing, and he man­aged to es­cape his at­tack­ers. The at­tack­ers also fled the scene, and no ar­rests had been made at time of print.

Su­per­in­ten­dent Flor Mur­phy con­firmed that gardaí are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the se­ri­ous in­ci­dent, which is un­der­stood to have upset many of those liv­ing in the quiet es­tate.

They are ap­peal­ing to the pub­lic for any in­for­ma­tion on the in­ci­dent, and any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to con­tact ei­ther Kenmare or Kil­lar­ney Gardaí.
