Plans for flood re­lief in Lis­towel made pub­lic

MEM­BERS of the pub­lic in Lis­towel have un­til Jan­uary 4 to view new plans to al­le­vi­ate flood­ing in the cen­tre of the town.

Plans for the Cliev­er­agh Flood Re­lief Scheme in Lis­towel went out to pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion this week un­der the ‘part 8’ process re­quired for plan­ning of pro­jects of its kind by lo­cal au­thor­i­ties.

Kerry County Coun­cil has ap­plied for plan­ning for the flood re­lief scheme in the town­lands of Cliev­er­agh and Cur­raghtoosane – sub­ject of se­ri­ous prob­lems at times of heavy rain and where at least one fam­ily have been forced to quit their home on a num­ber of oc­ca­sions over flood­ing.
