Stephen Mur­phy gets UCC schol­ar­ship after his ter­rific Leav­ing Cert achieve­ments

EVERY­ONE at St Pa­trick’s Sec­ondary School, Castleis­land, is de­lighted with the news this week that Stephen Mur­phy, who com­pleted his Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate at the school this year, has been awarded the UCC Quer­cus En­trance Schol­ar­ship for the 2018/2019 aca­demic year.

Stephen has been awarded the schol­ar­ship on the ba­sis of his out­stand­ing achieve­ment in the 2018 leav­ing cer­tifi­cate. He achieved 601 points in his leav­ing cer­tifi­cate ex­ams and is now in UCC study­ing Law and French.

Stephen re­ceived the Jim Lyons award for ex­cel­lence in English at the school ear­lier in the year.

Stephen will be pre­sented with his schol­ar­ship to­mor­row, Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 6, by the pres­i­dent of UCC Pro­fes­sor Pa­trick G O’Shea at the schol­ar­ship Awards cer­e­mony.

This is a great achieve­ment for Stephen and his fam­ily, and it is well de­served.

Stephen is a son of Mon­ica and Stephen Mur­phy, Moan­more.

De­lighted and proud of the achieve­ments of all his stu­dents, St Pa­trick’s Prin­ci­pal De­nis O’Dono­van wished Stephen well in his stud­ies for the fu­ture.
