FIRIES HONOURS PAST AND PRESENT: Firies GAA’s newly constructed stand is almost near completion with the exception of it’s ‘honour wall’. The Firies GAAs’ honour wall is both a fundraising initiative for the club yet it offers members of the parish and afar an opportunity to signify and remember their own family name, a business, or individuals who form a past or present connection with Firies GAA. These brass lacquered engraved plaques will be mounted externally adjacent to the dressing rooms area in Pairc Eamonn.

Club chairman James O’Sullivan detailed the significance of the initiative within this thriving East Kerry Club. “As our club is ever growing and evolving, numerous members enquired about marking the many hard-working members who gave such commitment to the club both in years gone by and in the present day. With our new stand officially opening in 2019 and the club felt the honour wall would highlight the many years of hard work and productivity”.

Interest for places is strong with limited space available but Firies club secretary Brendan Spring would be able to advise. The cost of a single plaque is €150 and a double plaque is €250. Brendan Spring is available at 087 2998231 for further details.
