GUI Cups & Shields dates and venues announced

TEAM managers and clubs can now begin their plotting and planning for next season as the dates and venues for the Cups and Shields have been announced in the past week.

It all gets underway on the weekend of May 11 & 12 with the Jimmy Bruen Shield which will be hosted in the West Munster section by Killarney and Ballybunion.

Two weeks later on May 25 & 26 the Pierce Purcell Shield gets underway at Ceann Sibeal and Newcastlewest.

The Irish Mixed Foursomes is the third event on the calendar on June 15 & 16 at Dooks and Castleisland while Kanturk hosts the Irish Senior Cup the following weekend of June 22 & 23.

One week later, on June 29 & 30 Doneraile and Tralee host the Irish Junior Cup while the final event is the Barton Shield at Castlegregory on July 13 & 14.

The Munster finals of the Purcell and Bruen Shields will be played at Nenagh on July 20, while Castletroy host the Munster finals of the Irish Mixed Foursomes on August 10.

Tramore will host the Munster finals of the Irish Junior Cup, the Irish Senior Cup and the Barton Shield on the weekend of August 24 & 25.
