Beef plan meeting set for Kenmare Mart

A MEETING has been arranged for Kenmare Mart next Tuesday, December 11, at 8pm by the Beef Plan 2018-2025 movement.

The movement has been arranged “by beef farmers for beef farmers” over concerns for the sector’s future and its financial viability.

The group boasts 10,000 members and aims to reach 40,000.

It has identified 80 areas for potential improvement and seeks factories to pay a minimum base price giving a margin over the average cost of production. It wants a retail price reflecting the ‘world-quality product’ beef farmers in Ireland produces.
