Christmas season begins with the wonderful Kerry Choral Union...
KERRY Choral Union and Duhallow Choral Society, with soloists Miriam Murphy, Paula Murrihy and accompanist Ian Sexton will perform their annual ‘O Holy Night’ Concert in St. John’s the Baptist Church, Castle Street Tralee on December 9 at 7:30pm. This is a very exciting programme which will have performances by a joint choir of 130 voices, and two internationally renowned soloists.
Soprano Miriam Murphy is returning once again to her home town to add to the festivities. Miriam is one of the foremost sopranos in the country who performs worldwide.
This year, Mezzo Soprano Paula Murrihy will be joining Miriam and the choirs to sing in the Concert. Paula Murrihy’s attendance this year will add another exciting musical element to the evening.
This Concert will contain many of the Christmas favourites such as Silent Night, and O Holy Night, as well as an unusual arrangement of The Wexford Carol and a musical rendition of Scarlett Ribbons by the male voices.
The Musical Director will be Sharon Reidy who conducts both the choirs. The performances will be accompanied by professional accompanist Ian Sexton.
