Vouchers make the ideal Christmas gift

-

WHAT better way to solve gift dilemmas than by giving a voucher. Christmas gift vouchers are currently available from participating outlets in €10, €20 and €50 denominations with no expiry date. It’s a simple and easy way for a gift recipient to do as they wish with them. Tralee Chamber Alliance devised the idea so shoppers can give gift vouchers, which can be redeemed exclusively in shops, hair and beauty salons, restaurants, cafés and hotels in Tralee - Kerry’s Shopping Capital.

Designed to give the retail and tourism sector in the town an economic boost to the tune of €300,000 in its first year, the initiative adds more flexibility and better scope to gift giving this Christmas. They will encourage consumers, from home and abroad, to purchase and redeem the vouchers in the town and in doing so, support local businesses.

Launched by the President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Aidan Kelly and the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Graham Spring in November, the vouchers are now available to buy in time for Christmas shopping making them a great gift for family and friends.

“The Tralee Voucher initiative has the potential to yield €300,000 worth of revenue to the various participating sectors in the first year,” said Ken Tobin, Managing Consultant for Tralee Chamber Alliance.

Employers are also being urged to consider using the vouchers as a tax efficient Christmas gift to their employees. The vouchers can only be purchased at The Tech Co in Dominick Street, and online at www.tralee.ie. Stores like Garvey’s Supervalu, Shaw’s Department Store and CH Chemist are already on board where the vouchers will be accepted as payment for goods and/or services.

To make the Tralee Vouchers as successful as possible, the Chamber is asking all Tralee businesses to sign up to become a registered participating outlet. In short, the more stores that accept the vouchers, the more people will purchase them.
