THANK YOU:

Mike Bowler, Carhan Road, Cahersivee­n walked 118 km of Camino de Santiago & in the process raised €5,276 for the chemothera­py day unit, UHK. On 28th Nov. the cheque was presented to Mary A. Fitzgerald, assistant director of nursing, UHK by Mike Bowler & Christy O’ Connell.

The walk was also in memory of his late wife, Pauline, who received such great care & kindness in the unit prior to her untimely death a year ago. Mike would like to thank all the donors for their support and generosity. Special thanks to Christy O’ Connell, Christy Riordan, Stephen Donnelly and Kathleen O ‘Sullivan for their trojan work on the campaign.

Also, to Josephine & Martin of the Corner House for hosting the 2 quiz nights and to quiz master Connie O’ Connor. Finally, a big thank you to Graham Payne who accompanie­d Mike in the walk.

AUTUMN AMBLES:

Meet every Wednesday @ 10am at the Old Library (Cahersivee­n Community Resource Centre) to car pool. Walks approx 2 hours at an easy going pace to suit all. All welcome to join us for one or all of our walks. Comfortabl­e shoes, hiking boots are best for cross country walking with some small hills.
