LIGHT TO REMEMBER TREE

A Light To Remember Tree is officially lighting on the grounds of University Hospital Kerry. It was a very emotional night and we are overwhelmed with the crowd that came. We must thank all in the University Hospital Kerry for the refreshments, the lovely surroundings for the event and the great work that was done in setting up the tree. We must also thank the sound engineers who did a great job.

A huge thank you to Belfield Nursery for the amazing tree and Terry O’Brien for his help in getting it? To the amazing performers who entertained the crowd we are hugely grateful to you.

We started with the fantastic pipers from Killorglin Pipe Band who really set the tone for the evening and they were followed by the amazing Castleisland Choir who performed before and after the tree was lit up.

Ted Moynihan (RIP) was in many of our thoughts and it was very special to have his son Ted turn on the lights with Dr Sheahan. We were delighted to have Deirdre Walsh as MC for the night and as always did a fantastic job.

To all the Kerry Hospice volunteers who were on hand as always to help, we thank you.

This was a first for the Kerry Hospice Foundation and it would not have been possible but for the fantastic work of the Christmas Tree committee and we thank you for your hard work. To all the amazing public we are truly amazed at the continued support you give us on a daily basis. You again came out to support this event and we can not thank you enough. You are the reason the Kerry Hospice can provide the support needed for the Palliative care services in Kerry.

For those who missed tonight you can still buy a light on the virtual tree on line by clicking in to the link. This will be running right up to the 24th of December.

We had lovely cards this year in which Barry’s Packaging sponsored and designed.

EVENTS

A huge thank you to all in Abbeydorney GAA who presented a cheque to Kerry Hospice Foundation after their pride of the parish event. Well done all who took part.

Well done also to David O’Brien and the gang who shaved off their tashes on Dathai and Maura show all in aid of Kerry Hospice Foundation. Great coverage and a huge well done to all involved.

LIGHT UP FOR CHRISTMAS

There are two houses, one in Ballyduff and one in Killorglin who have decorated their homes for charity. Kate Lucid has lit up her house for the next couple of weeks and all funds raised will go to Palliative Care.

The Purcell family in Killoglin also have their house lit up and all funds raised will go to KHF and Recovery Haven. A huge thank you to both for the great support.

BEAR SALE

The ladies from Killarney held a bear sale in Manor on Saturday last where they sold all bears that they had made themselves. A great idea for the Christmas period, well done all.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The 4th of December will see a floral demonstration by Kathleen Reidy and will take place in the River Island at 7:30pm. All welcome.
