AMONG THE KEY PLANS IN THE REPORT ARE PLANS TO:
• Develop a coherent commercial proposition for the town by documenting its ICT capabilities, infrastructure and innovation ecosystem
• Explore the potential for a start-up or seed Accelerator programme linked to a Smart Strategy
• Promote an e-working or remote working model
• Apply to the EU wifi4Eu scheme to
install free wifi in public spaces
• Purple Flag Accreditation
• Critically appraise the commercial potential for community enterprise, shared manufacturing and production facilities
•Enhance the built environment, streetscape and the presentation of commercial premises through a shopfront improvement grant
• Assess the potential of a heritage centre to permanently showcase the town’s wealth of unique history
• Conduct an audit of existing local and walking and cycling routes and how best to link these networks.
•Examine the potential of developing town centre facilities as trail head facilities for outdoor activities.
• Ensure that Killorglin becomes the pivotal connection point for the Kerry way and the Dingle Way
• Create tangible links between the town and the coastline and the beaches in Cromane and Glenbeigh via off road networks
