Dromid motion to alter Parish Rule is well beaten

A few motions to Convention generated a lot of debate and discussion, with the following outcomes:

Motion 1

To accord with Rule 3.11 TO 2018 that Bye Law 1 (a) be amended by changing “Development Officer” from elected officers to appointed officers.

To accord with Rule 6.5 TO 2018 the Bye Laws 5.2 (v) and 5.3 (a) be amended by replacing word Members with word Players.

Motion 3

That Rule 6.2 TO 2018 be amended by the addition of the following to subsection (a): That subject to provision of its County Bye Laws, a Manager/Trainer/ Coach/Selector shall be a registered full member of that Club and Association, and that eligibility for appointment to any of these positions shall be as for player eligibility in that county. Motion 4

That Bye Law 5.1 be amended by the addition of a new section 5.1 (c) as follows: (i) A person whose parents were at the time of his birth permanently resident in the present catchment area of that club or (ii) A person whose parents participated as a member of that club in competitions organised or sanctioned by Coiste Chontae Chiarraí.

Motion 5

That Bye Laws 5.1, 5.1 (a), 5.1 (b), 5.2 (c) including its subsections, and 5.3 (b) be deleted and replaced with the following: 5.1 (a) A player must be a registered Full Member or Youth Member of a club and the Association. Rule 6.2 (a) TO 2018. (b) A player may not be a member of a club for which he is ineligible to play. Rule 6.2 (b) TO 2018. (c) A person seeking to become a member of the Association within a jurisdiction of Coiste Chontae Chiarraí shall initially have an unfettered choice of clubs (hurling and football). (d) A player granted an Intercounty Transfer into a jurisdiction of Coiste Chontae Chiarraí shall have an unfettered choice of clubs (hurling and football) there in.

That Rule 3.18 TO 2018 be amended by the addition of the following to paragraph (a): All members of the County Committee shall not serve for a period longer than 5 years either consecutively or cumulatively. Vide: Rule 3.11 TO 2018
