Primary schools handball finals completed

ALLIANZ CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL

THE Allianz Cumann na mBunscol handball championship was played in Glenbeigh on Friday last. Seán Ó Domhaill and members of the Glenbeigh handball club oversaw the running of another successful competition with the winners of the respective competitions now going forward to represent Ciarraí in the Munster competition in the new year.

It’s disappointing that areas which were once to the fore in these competitions are no longer represented and the challenge now for Cumann na mBunscol and the Handball association is to try and rejuvenate this wonderful game in those areas and to encourage new areas to become involved in the promotion of liathróid láimhe.

Scoil Eoin Baiste Lios Póil was well represented this year after many years of absence and pupils from the school will represent the county in the new year. Once a juvenile handball stronghold it’s wonderful to see the new strides being made to promote the game again.
