THE Kerry senior hurlers will open the new season with a home game against All-Ireland champions Limerick in the Co-op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League on Thursday week, 20 December. The venue is Austin Stack Park, Tralee with a 7.30pm throw-in time.
Round 2 will be an away game against Tipperary at McDonagh Park, Nenagh on Saturday, 5 January.
Kerry will open their 2019 Allianz Hurling League campaign on the weekend of 27 January with an away trip to Antrim.
Munster loss for Ballyheigue
THE Ballyheigue junior team travelled to Killeedy, Co. Limerick last Saturday to play Inagh-Kilnamona (Clare) in the Munster Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship quarter final. Although giving a very creditable performance they were defeated by 2-15 to 1-5.
All Kerry Colleges final
IT will be a local derby clash to decide the 2018 Munster Schools Senior ‘E’ Hurling Championship. In the semi-finals, Mercy Mounthawk, Tralee defeated Meánscoil San Nioclás (Waterford) by 2-14 to 2-11 at Mick Neville Park Rathkeale on Wednesday last while Tralee CBS defeated Mount Sion (Waterford) by 2-14 to 2-8 at Charleville on Thursday.
The final goes ahead on this Friday, 14 December at 12.30pm, venue to be confirmed. It is not every day Kerry hurling teams reach a Munster hurling final so it is really great to have two teams facing each other.
