Listowel Celtic hold off Dingle Bay challenge in Premier A

DINGLE Bay Rovers journeyed to Pat Kennedy Park and came home empty handed going down 3-2 to Listowel Celtic in an exciting and keenly contested game. This was a great win for the home side and Dingle will have to show more consistenc­y if they are to feature in the title race this season.

Jo Jo Grimes, Jack Sheehan and Michael Kennedy scored for Celtic while Adam O’Rourke and Sean Fitzgerald were the Dingle Bay Rovers scorers.

Killarney Athletic 3 Mitchels Avenue 1

KILLARNEY Athletic narrowed the gap at the top of the table to just 3 points with a comfortabl­e win over Mitchels Avenue. William Courtney, Chris O’Meara and Cillian O’Regan scored for the winners while Sean O’Reilly scored for Mitchels Avenue.

This win elevated Athletic to second in the table and they are breathing down the necks of their arch rivals Celtic.

DENNY PREMIER B Classic FC 1 CG Killarney 0

TABLE toppers CG Killarney faced a stern test against fellow title contenders Classic FC and in a very tight game Classic came away with the three points. A solitary goal decided the game and it was scored by Max Mugabe.

Classic are now second in the table and in a good position to feature in the title race.

Best for CG were Mike Murphy, John Foley and Sam Treharne

Killarney Celtic B 2 Castleisla­nd 1

IN a close tie Killarney Celtic secured the three points with their goals coming from Keeln Deegan and Lee Downing.

AC Athletic 4 Camp United 1

AC Athletic brought Camp United’s rich vein of form to a halt with a big win over the title contenders.

AC kept it all in the family with Joseph Diggins bagging a hat trick while his brother Jason scored the other goal.

Andrew Finn was the Camp United scorer.
