Another busy Christmas at Bud’s Family Resource Centre, Ballyduff...

-

BUDS Family Resource Centre in Ballyduff is a fantastic community resource that operates a year round service for families and individuals. It is committed to attaining and improving the quality of life of people through a series of educational, health and social opportunities which are organised and run from the centre. This cohesive effort brings together all that is positive about community life to achieve a greater good.

Christmas is a busy time at Buds as there is always something happening. The Christmas ‘Pop-Up Shop’ is on every Friday at Buds (all table space is free). This takes place up until Christmas. On Thursday, December 13 & 20 from 10am-4pm there is an opportunity to support local produce with homemade and locally made arts and craft items for sale. These include vintage candle cups, jewellery, knitwear, personalised cards, photographs,

baby surprise baskets, paintings and much more. This is a great chance to pick up a Christmas gift with a difference.

The Tesco Christmas Food Appeal also chose Bud’s as its 2018 beneficiary and recipient of their Christmas appeal. Buds were delighted and proud to have taken part in this initiative which was recently held at Tesco in Manor West. The food appeal was a huge success and it gave everyone involved a huge sense of satisfaction taking part.

The Causeway Youth Club also hosted this year’s very successful food drive at the club, and all proceeds go to Bud’s Family Resource. This will now be given to families in the community who are finding it difficult this Christmas. This is just a sample of the busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas at Buds.

People are always welcome to attend the centre and they are looking for more people to give them a call and get involved in 2019.
