BALLYHAR/FIRIES COMMUNITY CARE

The annual mass and Christmas dinner will take place in the Marian Hall on Friday 14th December. Mass is at 12 noon followed by dinner. Everybody welcome.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION - Many thanks to the people of Killarney and its environs for supporting our annual collection at holy day masses on Friday/ Saturday 7th/8th December, also a special word of thanks to the club members who volunteere­d to collect.

TEAMS- Our u10s were in Fossa on Saturday for a three team blitz involving Hosts MEK utd, Camp Juniors & ourselves.Some great games were played & future stars were on show.Many thanks to Hosts MEK and all coaches involved.

Our U11s hosted a blitz on sunday last at murt scott park where they entertaine­d Castleisla­nd FC and Killarney Athletic in mini games.

Thanks to Sean & fellow club coaches for arranging & organising.On Saturday last our U12s hosted St Brendans Park B in the league where we were victorious on a 4-2 scoreline.

We led 2- 0 at the break with goals from Jake Keating and Sean Barry.Gearard Long made it 3-0 before Park got on the score sheet but a fourth goal from Davin Quilter sealed the win.This was a great squad performanc­e in which goal keeper Gearoid o Connor had an excellent game and was ably assisted by Sean o Sullivan, Eoghan Corbett, Eoin Walsh , Junior Balladares & sean Barry.

Our U16s lost away to St Brendans Park on a scoreline of 4-2 in a premier league tie.Best on the day were goal scorer Perter Cosgrave, Christophe­r Palmer, Hugh Walsh & Harry Byrne.

Our Youths picked up a valuable and deserved away point in a well contested away game at Woodlawn on Saturday

On Sunday our seniors had an excellent 1-0 away win against a very strong Listowel Celtic B side. We played into a strong breeze in the first half and created the better of the goal opportunit­ies. On the restart we took the game to Listowel who had a number of half chances but late on Shane o Donoghue controlled an excellent free kick from Ger Fitzgerald and finished to the net beating a listowel keeper whom brought off a number of fine saves throughout the game.Squad on the day P Daly, M o Donoghue, J Daly, D o Shea, E Kerrisk, P o Connor, N Mccarthy, D Brosnan, G Fitzgerald, P o Connor, S o Donoghue, M Daly, T o Shea , P Shanahan , J o Connor & P Browne.
