MARRIAGE

Congratulations to Patrick, son of Breda and the late John Foley, Beenbane whose marriage to Rebecca Vaughan was celebrated by Fr Gerard Finucane on Friday 30th November in St. Fiachna’s Church, Bonane. Best Man was John Francis Foley and Groomsmen were Paudie Dennehy, Jerry O’Carroll and Will Norton. Bridesmaids were Laura Vaughan, Jacinta O’Shea, Sinead Vaughan and Niamh Vaughan. The Pageboy was J.J. O’Carroll. Church music was by ‘Perfect Day’. The wedding reception was held in Parknasilla Hotel. We wish the newly married couple a long and happy life together.

TREE LIGHTING

Well done to Dylan Fitzgerald representing St. Finian’s N.S. who turned on the lights at Waterville Tidy Towns Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday night. A large crowd turned out and joined the Women’s Choir and Children’s Choir in singing Christmas Carols. Mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate were enjoyed by all and Santa Clause also made an appearance. Well done to Waterville Tidy Town and to all who helped in any way.

PLAQUE UNVEILING

A plaque will be unveiled in Kilmackerin at the birthplace of Fionán Lynch, former T.D. and Minister elected to the first Dáil in 1918 on Saturday 15th December @ 3pm.

BINGO & RAFFLE

Waterville Community Centre will hold their annual fundraising Monster Bingo and Raffle on Tuesday, December 18th @ 8.30pm. Great raffle prizes and jackpot must go on the night. All support for this event would be much appreciated as this is the only fundraiser for the Community Centre each year.
