1. CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS PARTY IN KILFLYNN

THE Kilflynn Community Together (KCT) group will be hosting their fourth annual childrens Christmas Party on Sunday December 16 in the St Columba Centre in Kilflynn.

There wil be plenty of music, dancing and games galore on the day; there will be an entrance fee of €3 on the door which will include a goody bag.

2. TAKE PART IN TRALEE 5KM SANTA FUN RUN

ONE of Tralee’s best loved festive events returns later this month as the Tralee Santa 5k fun run takes place on Sunday December 16 from the Tralee Bay Wetlands.

The run will start at 11am with tickets for adults set to cost €10 while anyone Under 12 will cost just€5.

3. PUPILS TO STAGE ‘THE GRINCH’ IN LYREACROMP­ANE

LYREACROMP­ANE N.S will be presenting their Christmas play, ‘The Grinch’ on Thursday December 13 at 6pm in the Resource Centre.

There will be a door prize and a lucky dip on the night while a shop will also be available.

Admission is just €5 while all U12’s are free; everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the festive season.

4. FUNDRAISIN­G NIGHT OF MUSIC FOR CENTRE

THE Nagle Rice Community Centre will hold their one and only fundraiser of this year next week on December 20.

It will be an all-singing and alll dancing affair as the centre welcomes the ‘Britains Got Talent’ singing priest, Fr Ray Kelly.

Support acts on the night will include Noreen Ashe, Eddie Lee along with the Killorglin­s Mens Shed Choir.

Tickets for the night are now available to buy from both O’Doherty’s Pharmacy and Burke’s Butchers.

5. NORA RICE LAUNCHING NEW CD IN CAMP

THE hugely talented Nora Rice will launch her brand new music CD in the Railway Bar in Camp this coming Sunday December 16,

The new CD is entitled ‘Life’s Journey’ and it will be launched at the traditiona­l music session in the bar at 8:30pm on the night.

6. TIME AGAIN FOR BALLYDUFF CHRISTMAS FEST

THE annual Ballyduff Christmas festival will take place in the village this coming Sunday December 16.

Not a day out to be missed, the festival will run in the Square in Ballyduff from 2pm to 6pm.

New stalls have been added to the set up up this year so organisers are encoueagin­g everyone to come to the village and soak up the atmosphere in the pop-up village.

7. O’NEILL SISTERS TO PLAY IN THE INEC

THE hugely talented O’Neill Sisters are set to take to the stage in the INEC tomorrow night for what is sure to be a fantastic performanc­e.

The North Kerry sisters made headlines this year when they were invited to feature a number of songs on the official welcome album for the Pope’s visit.

They play the Gleneagle Hotel on Thursday December 13; doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:30. Tickets cost €28.65

8. CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM IN BALLINSKEL­LIGS

THE Francis Curran Memorial Ballinskel­ligs Christmas Day Swim will take place on Monday December 25 at 12 noon.

The beneficiar­ies of this years swim will be the Ballinskel­ligs Community Care and the Night Nursing Service in Kerry.

9. DELIGHT AS KILLARNEY ON ICE RETURNS

IT’S one of the highlights of the festive season in Killarney and now locals can look forward to the return of Killarney on Ice this weekend.

The ice rink will run on selected dates from Friday November 30 right unp until Sunday January 6; the rink will be locaqted at the Beech Road Car Park in Killarney.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.
