Huge rise in Kerry people on the seniors alert scheme

-

THERE has been a large increase in the number of elderly people signed up to the Seniors Alert Scheme in Kerry according to the latest figures released for 2018.

According to statistics released running up to the end of October last year, the number of participants in the scheme was 1,440 people, an increase of more than 135 per cent from the same stage last year.

The scheme sees older people receive a free monitored alarm which they wear on their person. Minister Brendan Griffin has welcomed the rise in the number of Kerry participants.
