Kerry Schools Cross-Country championships

THE Kerry Schools Cross-Country Championships will be held next Thursday, January 17 at The Demesne, Killarney with the first race at 11.30am.

Athletes will compete in four age groups and race distances:

• Minor (born on/after July 1, 2005) Girls 1,500m Boys 2,000m

• Junior (born on/after July 1, 2004) Girls 2,000m, Boys 2,500m • Intermediate (born on/after July 1, 2002) Girls 2,500m, Boys 4,000m • Senior (born on/after July 1, 2000) Girls 2,500m, Boys 5,000m

Kerry Schools medals will be presented to the first six individuals and the first three teams (4 to score). Shields will be presented to the Best Overall School in girls and boys events.

The entry feeis €3 per athlete. Please fill in the entry forms and hand them to the Secretary along with the correct fee, before the first event.

Qualification for Munster Schools Cross-Country Championships is through regional qualifiers at North or South Munster Championships. The following are fixture dates:

• North Munster Schools XCThursday, January 24 in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick

• South Munster Schools XC - Friday, February 1

• Munster Schools XC Friday, February 15

• All-Ireland Schools XC Saturday, March 9
