SOCIAL AND AWARDS NIGHT: Held in the Gleneagle on 28th December the night was a resounding success attended by almost 300 patrons. The night of celebratio­ns to honour an exceptiona­l year for the club was adorned by the presence of RTE’s Marty Morrissey who acted as M.C. for the night. The senior team were presented with their Kerry and Munster medals by Tim Murphy Chairman of Kerry Co board while the junior team received their O Sullivan cup medals from Johnny Brosnan East Kerry board.

Donal and Niamh Dwyer were presented with the “Clubperson of the Year award” for their colossal contributi­on to the club over the year and in particular for organising the very successful “Night at the Oskars”.Junior player of the year went to James Nagle while Kieran Murphy, Gary O Leary, Paul O Shea and Keith O Leary were recognised for their achievemen­ts with Kerry during the year. Willie Fleming was acknowledg­ed for his work in securing the extra playing field and Government sports grants. FUNDRAISER: Ian O Connell Fund raiser. Our Ladies committee once again organised a very successful fund raiser in the Klub on Friday 5th. They wish to acknowledg­e all those who sponsored the event and those who attended on the night and gave generously. Ian who attended with his parents was appreciati­ve of the effort and wished the senior team the best of luck in two weeks in the All Ireland semi final.

ALL IRELAND SEMI- FINAL: All Ireland Semi- Final v Two Mile House of Kildare is just ten days away so again it is time to put up the colours and get ready to travel to Gaelic Park in Limerick on Sunday week. KILCUMMIN LADIES: Kilcummin’s ladies football club will field a senior team this year. NEW SECRETARY: Following ratificati­on at a meeting of the Club Executive on Friday evening, we are delighted to announce the appointmen­t of Emmet McCann as the 33rd Secretary of Laune Rangers GAA Club. Emmet has helped out in our Sunday morning nursery in the past, and we look forward to working with him in the year ahead. Emmet’s appointmen­t brings Muireann Arthurs’s term as Secretary to an end. Laune Rangers whole heartedly thank Muireann for the dedication and time she has given to the role for the past year & wish her all the best on her travels Down Under!

Festive Fun Football For Charity: The annual Milltown Castlemain­e GAAParish League for charity took place on St. Stephen’s Day in the The Dragons Den,Killorglin. A huge well done to the organisers Stephen Roche and Garry Murphy. A special thanks to all the players of the 6 teams that took part and to the referees Mike Hickey and Brendan Twiss. Our chairman Podge Leane was on hand serving tea/ coffee and Larkins Brack to all the footballer­s and supporters too. Míle buíochas Podge. We also appreciate the generosity of James O’ Mahony, of the ISK, who gave us the use of the Astro Turf Pitch free of charge. A total amount of €770 was raised which will go to the Kerry/ Cork Cancer Link Bus.
