Killorglin make ground

DENNY PREMIER B Killorglin 3 Camp United 0

KILLORGLIN continue to make up ground on the title contenders in this division and they were in great form again on Sunday recording a big win over joint table toppers Camp United.

Both sides created chances early on and Killorglin should of taken the lead when from a Dylan O’Sullivan corner Seán Turner looked sure to score but for a great block on the line.

Killorglin’s pressure did pay off in the 24th minute when Audie Dunlea won the ball in midfield and Dan Whittleton put a great ball through to Lee Carey who tucked it away with his right foot.

Three minutes before the break Killorglin doubled their lead when Dunlea put a great crossfield ball into Paul McKenna’s path and he finished it off to make it 2-0 at the break.

Camp almost got a goal back early in the second half when they got a free kick in a good position but Tony Lyons made a great save. The game was more or less over as a contest when Lee Carey put a great ball through to the tireless Dan Whittleton who slotted past the keeper to make it 3-0.

Killorglin gave subs Jacko Breen, Paddy Collins and Jamie Clifford a run and with the youths Eoin Clifford, Tim O’Shea and Alex O’Connor being rested after their fine win on Saturday Killorglin look in good shape. The three points bring Killorglin up to third in the table.
