Big win for Killorglin

-

DENNY YOUTHS LEAGUE Killarney Celtic 3 Killorglin 4

KILLORGLIN took the lead with prolific goalscorer Stephen O’Loughlin scoring from a great cross from Evan Madden. They doubled their lead when Eoin Clifford found Ronan O’Shea who finished off a fine move.

Just before the break Celtic’s Ryan Kelliher got the home team back in the game with a fine volley from the edge of the box.

Killorglin made it 3-1 early in the second minute of the second half through Eoin Clifford and should have made it four when O’Loughlin broke Celtic’s off side trap but he shot fractionally wide

This seemed to wake up the home side and they applied a lot of pressure but were denied by some great goalkeeping by Killorglin goalie Alex O’Connor.

However, their persistence eventually paid off and goals from Liam Spillane and Adam Maye Keane brought the game to parity.

With time nearly up Stephen O’Loughlin had one final chance from a great ball from Eoin Clifford and made no mistake this time and Killorglin took all three points keeping them top of the Section B of the Youths League at the halfway stage.

Castleisland 1 Rattoo Rovers 7

RATTOO Rovers join Tralee Dynamos at the top of the table after an easy win over Castleisland.

The star of the show for the Ballyduff side was Nathan McGrath who scored a hat-trick. Cian McGrath, Darragh Slattery, Declan O’Donoghue and Dylan Moriarty were also on the scoresheet for the winners.

Listowel Celtic 3 The Park 0

A SURPRISE result here with Listowel Celtic defeating possible title contenders The Park.

After a scoreless first half the home side done all the damage in the second half with goals from Darragh Mackessy, Thomas Dillon and Ronan O’Neill capturing the three points for the Fealesiders.
