CHARLES O’SHEA 10K & 5KJ

Just over 200 runners turned out for the 31st Annual Charles O’Shea 10K and 5K on New Years Day. Held in the village of Beaufort on what was a very good day which was dry and no wind. Organised by Star of The Laune AC it continues to attract some talented runners. There was good representation from our club with everyone doing very well. In the 5K, Aidan Cahill was first to cross the line in a time of 17:31 and Dermot Dineen was third in a time of 17:55. Ger Ladden finished in 20:51, first in his age category. In the 10K Caitriona Barry ran very well to finish second place overall and in a time of 41:01.Munster AwardsCongratulations to Rossa Foley who has been awarded the U23 Track & Field for his Munster achievements in 2018.

The Munster Star Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday 2nd February in the Rathkeale House Hotel, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick.

Registration is from 1st Jan 2019 to 31st Dec. 2019.New members always welcome to attend our training and see if it is suitable for you or your children. Plenty of information on our club website: ffmvac.blogspot.ie.Kerry Athletics Development Squad training sessions return to Tralee Harriers Field across from the Rose Hotel on Sunday mornings from 11am to 1pm. Events covered are Sprints, Hurdles, Middle distance, Jumps and Throws. These sessions are open to all club athletes who will be U13 in 2019 and older. The cost for the year is €50 per athlete

CLUB TRAINING

Juvenile Indoors commences on Tuesday 22nd January in the Sports Hall Farranfore from 6pm to 6:45pm.

Open to all registered juveniles aged 8yrs (Born 2011) to 12yrs (Born 2006). €2 per session.Secondary School / Senior training commencing on Thursday 10th Jan. at 6:30pm in GAA grounds Farranfore. This is endurance build training. €2 club member, €4 non club member . Maria’s Strength, Endurance & Flexibility Exercise Classes commences on Tuesday 15th Jan. @ 7pm at the Sports Hall in Farranfore. €5 per class
