Brexit to be key topic at Killarney Economic Forum
IT has become one of the most talked about topics in history, and once again the future of Brexit will be the key source ofdiscussion at this year’s Killarney Economic Conference, taking place this week.
This highly anticipated gathering of economic, civic and political leaders from Britain and Ireland comes following the UK parliament vote on the Brexit deal, and the impact and implications of that vote will be discussed by speakers in business, academia, politics, and more. Among the speakers is former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern; Mark Kennedy, Mazars; Ed Sibley, Central Bank; and Dr Stephen Kinella from the University of Limerick. Other political figures include Lucinda Creighton; Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin; Denis McShane, UK Labour; Doug Beattie, Ulster Unionist Party; and John McGrane of the British Irish Chamber of Commerce.
The second Killarney Economic Conference takes place in the INEC/Brehon this Thursday and Friday.
“Our conference this year takes place in a critical and historic week, and there is still so much uncertainty,” said conference organiser and historian Dr William Sheehan.
The conference will begin at lunchtime tomorrow, January 17, with a half-day forum followed by dinner that evening.
On Friday, January 18, the debates and discussions continue for a full-day conference.
Tickets are on sale for the event’s conference and the gala dinner.
