Young Islanders AGM appointments

ON Friday, January 4, the AGM of the Valentia Young Islanders GAA club took place, and the following personnel were appointed:

President: Tadhg O’Donoghue; Vice-presidents: Patrick Daly, Tadhg Murphy, Timothy Lyne, Donal O’Donoghue, John Francis Curran, Neilie Murphy, John Lynch, Jerome ‘Toss’ O’Connell, Eileen Shanahan, Mick O’Connell and Mossie O’Driscoll; Chairperson: Deirdre Lyne; Vice-chairperson: To be filled at the Bord na nÓg AGM; Secretary: Sinead O’Connor, who replaces Marie O’Neill, who did not seek re-appointment; Assistant Secretary: Sadie O’Sullivan; Treasurer: Teresa O’Shea; Assistant Treas- urer: Eileen O’Sullivan; PRO: Liam Lynch; Asstistant PRO: Darren Curran; County Board Delegates: Joe McCarthy and Deirdre Lyne; Cultural Officers: Jacque Murphy and Sally Murphy; Registrar: Eileen Mort O’Sullivan; Child Welfare: Ciara O’Sullivan; Coaching Officer: Paul O’Sullivan; Social Media: Deirdre Lyne and Darren Curran; Delegates to South Kerry Board: Darby Lynch, Deirdre Lyne and John O’Sullivan; Executive Committee: Ger O’Shea, Kevin Curran, Patrick O’ Donoghue, Mossie O’Sullivan, Andrew Quigley, Timothy Lyne, John Daly, Mossie O’Sullivan and Gerard Lynch; Field Committee: John O’Sullivan, Darby Lynch, Ger O’Shea, Liam Lynch, Patrick O’Donoghue, Kevin Curran & John Shanahan; Minor Trainer: To be arranged.

Marie O’Neill, who stepped down as the secretary, was in the position for the past two years and also served as such in years gone by.

Marie was a huge administrative cog in the club and was always on the ball, reliable, very organised and competent. The club sincerely thanks her for her dedication and welcomes the incoming Secretary, Sinéad O’Connor.

Mick O’Connell and Mossie O’Driscoll were also welcomed as Vice-presidents.
