Causeway Comprehens­ive reach Munster Colleges semi-final

WELL done to Causeway Comprehens­ive School on progressin­g to the semi-final of the Munster Colleges Under 19 ‘C’ Hurling competitio­n. In the quarter-final last week they defeated Ballincoll­ig Community School (Cork) by 2-15 to 2-5. In the semi-final they will play a combined team from St. Anne’s, Community College, Killaloe / Salesian Secondary College, Pallaskenr­y on Saturday, January 26, 12.30pm at Killaloe.

Allianz Hurling League

KERRY will open their Allianz Hurling League, Division 2A campaign on Saturday, January 26 away to Antrim in Round 1 in Cushendall at 2pm.

The first home game will be in Round 2 against Westmeath on Sunday, February 3 at Austin Stack Park, 2pm. Further rounds against Mayo on Sunday, February 17 at Austin Stack Park, 2pm; away to London on Saturday, February 23 at McGovern Park, Ruislip, 1pm; Meath on Sunday, March 3 at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney (as part of a double bill with the Kerry footballer­s v Monaghan).

Coaching Course

Kerry Coaching and Games are running a one day Foundation Level Coaching Course on Saturday, February 2 in Ballyheigu­e clubhouse at 10am. The Course Tutor will PJ Ryan. The Foundation is the introducto­ry Award for coaches of Gaelic Games. The course covers 4 modules – Introducti­on to games; Skill developmen­t; Movement skills and Coaching children, youths and adults.

This course is aimed at beginner Coaches involved with teams at U-6 to U-12 levels. Details with all clubs.

North Kerry Hurling Board Convention

The Annual Convention of the North Kerry Hurling Board is fixed for this Thursday, January 17. Venue will be the Kilmoyley GAA clubrooms where proceeding­s get underway at 8pm.

The AGM of Lady’s Walk Hurling Club will take place on this Friday, January 18 at 7.30pm in Lowe’s, Ballyduff.

Abbeydorne­y Hurling Club will hold a victory social on this Saturday, January 19 at Ballyroe Heights Hotel to mark their 2018 County Minor Hurling Championsh­ip win.

This Saturday, County Senior champions, Lixnaw, will be presented with their medals at a banquet at the Rose Hotel, Tralee.
