Scór na nÓg Quiz final

THE County Final of Scór na nÓg Trath na gCeist is scheduled for Friday, January 18 at 7 pm at the Centre of Excellence Currans. As Scór celebrates 50 years of activities this season all clubs in Kerry are invited and encouraged to participat­e in this team event of Trath na gCeist.

The Quiz format is ten rounds of eight questions on topics such as GAA matters, Culture, History, Geography and current Affairs. The winning team qualifies for the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Finals which is scheduled for Saturday, February 23 in Castlebar Co. Mayo. Teams of four, under 17 years on January 1 and registered club members are eligible to enter.

The Munster Finals of Scór na nÓg are scheduled for Sunday, January 20 at Cappoquin Co. Waterford where Kerry will be represente­d by the following clubs; Spa in both Rince Foirne and Set Dancing, Martin Larkin of Sneem in Solo Singing, Gearoid Evans of Keel in Aithriseoi­reacht, Na Gaeil in Leiriú Staitse, Glenflesk in Ballad Group, and Finuge in Instrument­al Music.

Reminder re Senior Scór dates – District Board Finals to be completed by February 3 with the County Finals scheduled for Saturday, February 16.

Best of luck to Kilcummin and Beaufort

IN the Intermedia­te semi-final, Kilcummin face Two Mile House of Kildare on Sunday January 20, at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick at 2pm. Referee is Barry Judge and there will be extra-time if necessary.

Also at 2pm on January 20, Beaufort play Dundalk Young Irelands of Louth in the Juniors semi-final which goes ahead in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. The referee is Seán Lonergan with extra-time if necessary.

We wish both clubs the very best of luck. It is a huge achievemen­t to reach the All Ireland club semi final but hopefully an even bigger occasion awaits both clubs in February!
