Killarney claim all-important win

Premier

KILLARNEY Celtic in second place knew that nothing less than a win would do away to league leaders Killorglin. And in a tight game Callum Cronin got the only goal for Killarney Celtic who are now just three points behind Killorglin.

The Park are into joint third place after they won at Christy Leahy Park. For the Park Andrew Kerins (2), Ciaran Kavanagh, Aaron Powell, Jay Jay Olitijan and Justin O’Sullivan got the goals.

Tralee Dynamos also took an important three points from their home game against Iveragh United. Adam Evans, Rory O’Halloran and Eoin Flaherty got the Tralee sides goals with Fintan O’Sullivan replying for Iveragh.

Division 1

GOALS from Finn Nolan, Mint O’Connor (2) and Jack Joy gave Castleisla­nd all three points and extend their lead at the top. Jack Tagney replied for Mastergeeh­a. They will be even happier when they saw Killorglin B and Inter Kenmare drawing 1-1. Cian O’Brien got the Killorglin goal with Mort O’Shea scoring for Inter.

The leaders had already won earlier in the week defeating Tralee Dynamos 4-2 with O’Connor and Joy on the score sheet in that game as well with Eoghan Shire also scoring.

Pierce Lowth scored twice for Dynamos who were also unlucky to go down 4-3 to Camp Juniors on Saturday.

Peader Burke, Shane Crossan and Aaron Horan got the Dynamos goals, while Ciaran Courtney Smith 2, Dev Din and Paudie Fitzgerald got the goals for a happy Camp side.

Dingle Bay Rovers are up to joint second following their 3-0 win away at Killarney Celtic B. Cian McGearailt, Danny Kavanagh and James Horan from the penalty spot scored for Dingle Bay.

Division 2 North

THERE were wins for Dingle Bay Rovers and Ballyhar that sees them close the gap to two points to Killarney Athletic at the top of the division.

For Dingle Bay Padraig Manning (2), Jack Sheehy and Cathal Farrell scored in their 4-1 win over Killorglin. Ballyhar also won at home on the same score-line. Fionn Coleman (2), Aaron O’Sullivan and Michael O’Sullivan got their goals.

Division 2 South

LB Rovers are up to joint second as the battle for the runners up spot following runaway leaders Park C tightens up.

Goals from Fionn Houlihan, Leigh Meehan, JJ O’Sullivan, Daithi Keane Tyrrell and Darragh Moriarty scored for the North Kerry side with David McCarthy replying for Castleisla­nd.
