CASTLEISLA­ND A breezed into the next round of the cup without too much difficulty with a very comfortabl­e win over Strand Road.

This game was over as a contest at half-time with Castleisla­nd 5-0 ahead with goals from Adam O’Donoghue (two), Colin McCarthy (two) and Tommy Feehan. McCarthy completed his hat trick midway through the second half to cap a fine individual performanc­e.

Ballyhar Dynamos 6 Listowel Celtic B 1

BALLYHAR Dynamos were too good for Listowel Celtic and ran out easy winners at the end.

They were in the driving seat at half time leading 4-0. Shane O’Donoghue was their the top marksman with a hat trick, Niall McCarthy bagged a brace and Diarmuid O’Mahony completed the scoring for the winners.

Their best players on the day were Patrick Daly, Maurice O’Donoghue, John Daly, Dan O’Shea, Ed Kerrisk, Jordan O’Connor, Trevor O’Shea and Padraig Shanahan.

Castlemain­e United 1 Listowel Celtic A 1 (AET, Listowel Celtic won 5-4 on pens)

THERE was almost a shock result here with Division 1B side Castlemain­e United pushing Premier A side Listowel Celtic all the way, but after the game ended deadlocked 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time Celtic won 5-4 in a penalty shoot out. Pa Wren scored for Castlemain­e while Kevin McCarthy scored for Listowel Celtic.

CG Killarney 1 Castleisla­nd B 3

A BIG win here for Castleisla­nd against Premier B table toppers CG Killarney.

Veteran Pa O’Rourke showed he can find the net as good as anyone scoring one of their goals and Stephen McCarthy and Josh Horan also found the net for the islanders.

Tadhg Fleming scored for CG with the assist provided by John Foley. Best for CG were Gary Cassidy, Andy O’Sullivan and Joe Hurley.

Killorglin A 2 Mitchels Avenue 0

THE game was scoreless at half-time with Killorglin having the better scoring chances over the 45 minutes.

They continued their attacking play in the second half and went ahead when in form striker Dan Whittleton headed home a Lee Carey free kick.

The second goal was a work of art with Whittleton linking up with Lee Carey and a clever step over by Tommy Cahill had the Mitchels Avenue defence at sea and Audie Dunlea found the net with a superb strike.

Classic FC 0 St Brendans Park 2

THE Park took the honours in this Tralee local derby which was very keenly contested. David Courtney and Aaron Ward scored for the winners.
