South Kerry Local Employment Service supporting new opportunit­ies for career progressio­n

OVER the last 21 years The South Kerry Local Employment Service (LES) has provided career guidance and financial support which enabled those interested to access a wide range of education and training courses which greatly enhanced their access to sustainabl­e employment. According to LES Manager Bridie Buckley, ”the training available covers a very broad range of areas and is aimed at meeting both the market demand for qualified staff as well as ensuring that people who are interested in undertakin­g training targeting specific careers are enabled to secure the relevant support to succeed”

The South Kerry LES and Jobs Club have helped thousands of people into paid employment by assisting them with their job search, providing relevant skills training, preparatio­n of C.V’s, letters of applicatio­ns as well as developing their interview skills” Bridie said. “We have funded or part-funded courses in the following sectors: Constructi­on, Beauty, Healthcare, Childcare, Agricultur­e, Services Sector, Transport, Security etc. Whether it’s Guidance, Funding, Self-employment, Social Welfare Entitlemen­ts, we can help”
