Young Ballymac singers impress no end in Keel finals

IT was another great distinction for Ballymacelligott and Scoil Nuachabháil on Sunday as pupil Ciara Murphy won the Community Games under-12 solo singing County Final, in her second year qualifying for the big competition.

Young Ciara was up against no fewer than 13 other golden-voiced singers from right across the entire county. And along with her pals and fel- low Nuachabháil pupils Katie Landers, Sophie Harpur and Saoirse Murphy, Ciara very nearly took gold in another category! After a powerful group performance the quartet were narrowly defeated, coming in second place in the under-12 group singing.

The County Finals of the Community Games singing took place in Keel Community Centre on Sunday.
