O’Sullivan on song as Firies take victory over Spa
UNDER 21 CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINAL
Spa 1-7 Firies 1-14
DONNACHADH O’Sullivan opened the scoring for Firies, but Spa replied immediately with a goal from David Spillane and a point from Niall McCarthy.
Firies then dominated the play and kept Spa scoreless for the rest of the half while they added six to their tally, Liam Brosnan, Trevor O’Shea, Darragh Donoghue and Donnacadh O’Sullivan (3) all on target. At half time Firies led 0-7 to 1-1.
Spa started the second half well and within minutes were level 1-4 to 0-7 after points from Niall McCarthy (2) and Michael Kearney. Donnacadh O’Sullivan (4), Liam Brosnan, Shane O’Donoghue and Patrick Daly added scores for Firies while Niall McCarthy’s sharpshooting kept Spa in contention.
Last score of the game was a Firies goal from Liam Brosnan to finish 1-14 to 1-7.
Glenflesk 2-14 Rathmore 2-7
GLENFLESK progressed to the semi-final of the East Kerry Under 21 Championship thanks to a strong second half performance against Rathmore in Rathmore.
The First half was a closely fought encounter and it was Rathmore who lad at the break by the minimum largely thanks to goals from Dean Fitzgerald and David Dineen.half time Glenflesk 0-9 Rathmore 2-3.
A strong team performance in the second half saw Glenflesk take control of the game and goals from David Cantillion and Darragh Fleming saw them eventually ease toawin.

SENIOR LEAGUE
Scartaglin 1-11 Cordal 0-10
CORDAL started the brighter team with two quick-fire points until a brilliant individual goal from Brian Hanrahan put Scartaglin front.
Scartaglin controlled the rest of the first half and led at the break. Half time: Cordal 0-2 Scartaglen 1-7.
The second half was a lot more of an even contest and Cordal finished with a flurry of points but could not reel Scartaglin.
A good game to start the year and there was lot of encouragement in the performances of both teams on the day.
Eoghan Ruadh
EOGHAN Ruadh Under 14 / Under 16 indoor sessions have been completed.
Players worked over twenty weeks to improve and develop at all levels in Gneeveguilla hall. The sessions were well attended with excellent feedback from all players and coaches on the varied and challenging work load.
Thanks to Philip Lyons (ITT) for supporting the programme over the twenty weeks. Patrick Barry (Gneeveguilla) worked closely with Vince Cooper East Kerry/ Kenmare GDA to complete the well run event.
Players should continue to work on the home programme over the playing season to gain maximum benefit.
