ALL IRELAND JUNIOR

Heartiest congratulations to our victorious Senior team and management on bringing the All Ireland trophy home to Beaufort, beating Easkey 3-15 to 0-5 at Croke Park. The final on Saturday last was a historic event for the club, attracting Beaufort supporters from all over Ireland, England, Perth and the U.S.

Though the final was easy, we congratulate them on their mighty contests to get there -digging deep in matches against Churchill, Na Gael, Dromtarriffe and Dundalk Éire Óg. In all these games they showed phenomenal grit and composure, determination and teamwork.

Saturday’s victory is a milestone in the history of the club, where participation, teamwork and good sportsmanship is always encouraged. As well as the pleasure of seeing wonderful games throughout 2018, we see this All-Ireland win as a fitting tribute to the great work done with underage teams down through the years. It is also a reward to the unsung work of club officers, trainers, lotto supporters and sponsors down through the years.

UNITING FORCE

Beaufort’s call to Croke Park in the All-Ireland Junior in the All-Ireland Junior was a huge uniting force to the Parish, drawing supporters from all townlands. Coming by bus, train and car, fans of all ages converged on Croke Park, many hitherto never dreaming of sitting on the stand, or making the trip to the Mecca of Gaelic Football. Now parents of young families can see the correct structures are in place in the club which, if nurtured by training and dedication can make our GAA club a uniting force in society.
