Sun 24th Feb in memory of the late John Teahan, Lonart Please join us this year for our annual Red Fox Tractor Run on Sunday 24th February 2019 from 11am. Now in it’s 3rd year, the Tractor Run has proven to be great day of fun and enjoyment for everyone who takes part all while raising funds for two local charities. This year we are raising funds for the Palliative Care Room at St. Joseph’s Home Killorglin and Irish Pilgrimage Trust Killorglin Branch annual trip to Lourdes for children. There will be spot prizes for tractors, raffles, an auction for a Pauline Bewick painting along with other auction items, refreshmen­ts at both The Red Fox Inn & Jack’s Coastguard Bar Cromane and Live Music back at the Red Fox that will run late into the night

CAN RINGS

Any one that can use can rings from drinks cans please contact writer. They used to go abroad to be melted down to make joints for amputees but Health and Safety in Eastern Europe stopped this trend. The late Trudy Van Hagen, Tullig did Trojan work in this project. A lot of rings have been collected and we are wondering if anyone has use for them.

Local History Lecture. Organised by Killorglin History & Folklore Society, ‘The Life and Times of the Herberts of Muckross’ is the title of an illustrate­d lecture to be given at 8pm on Friday 15th February 2019 in the KCYMS Mini Theatre by Patricia O’Hare (Research and Education Officer at Muckross House Library). The talk will be wide-ranging and include a Mid Kerry aspect. All welcome.

FUNDRAISER

Kyra O.Neill, Cromane Lower is a student of ISK Killorglin is hosting a Bingo fundraiser on Tuesday 19th Feb in Jacks Coastguard Restaurant at 8.30pm. She is going to Lourdes as a student carer and needs to raise funds for her trip and accommodat­ion. There will be lots spot prizes including an overnight stay in the 5 star Savoy Hotel, Limerick, an elegant timeless classic Swarovski tennis bracelet and a voucher for the Glenbeigh Hotel with lots more. Please come and support Kyra on the night.
