Move for Cromane to be included in the Wild Atlantic Way Route

Kerry County Council has confirmed that it is an objective of theirs to have Cromane included in the Wild Atlantic Way Route, stating that they have asked that it be considered as part of the review of the Wild Atlantic Way Route currently being undertaken by Failte Ireland.

Local Councillor Michael Cahill moved a motion recently at a meeting of the South and West Kerry Municipal District, calling on the Council to acknowledge the scenic fishing village of Cromane with its superb views of Castlemaine Harbour, Dingle Peninsula, Inch and Rossbeigh Beach, along with the Slieve Mish Mountains, Brandon Mountains and the McGillicuddy Reeks by calling on Failte Ireland to immediately include the Cromane Coastal Loop on the Wild Atlantic Way Route. The Fianna Fail Councillor said the inclusion of the area will have a positive impact on the economy of Cromane, Killorglin and the Mid Kerry region. The Killorglin Councillor said he was confident that Cromane will be included and that a decision should be announced in the near future.
