1. ST PATS LOOK BACK ON ITS SUCCESS

A SUSTAINED period of success for St Pat’s GAA club will be celebrated next weekend on Saturday February 16 in the Rose Hotel.

The club will look back on the period from 1989 to 1995 during which they won three County Championsh­ips, heir first St. Brendan’s Championsh­ips and Leagues, West Kerry Leagues with the Senior and Junior teams as well as their first Minor County League.

2. EDDI READER TO PERFORM IN SIAMSA TÍRE

THE brilliant Eddi Reader returns to her beloved Siamsa Tíre later next month in what is sure to be a fantastic performanc­e and notto-be-missed.

With roots in Tralee, the former Fairground Attraction singer will perform in the famous Tralee venue on the night of Sunday February 17.

Eddi’s last performanc­e in Tralee was received to huge acclaim and there is no doubt that this next performanc­e will be just as good.

Tickets to her show will cost between €21 and €23 with the concert kicking off at 8pm.

3. TRALEE 10 MILER AND 5K COMING UP ON FEBRUARY 16

ONE of the biggest events in Tralee this month is the upcoming Tralee 10 mile and 5k run which will take place on Saturday February 16.

The runs, which are the brain child of Michelle Greaney and Optimal Fitness Tralee will start from 10am onwards that morning.

Registrati­on for the runs will cost €25 and €12 respective­ly; the run will in support of the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

4. BON JOVEE SET FOR CHARITY GIG IN BRANDON HOTEL

LOCAL band Bon Jovee are all set to play a fundraisin­g charity gig in the Brandon Hotel this coming Saturday, February 16.

Support acts on the night include Oracle and former Euro Vision singer Mickey Joe Harte.

All funds raised on the night will go towards the ‘Clíona’s Foundation’ charity which provides financial assistance to families with critically and terminally ill children.

Night will kick off at 8:30pm; tickets are €20 and are on sale from the hotel.

5. VALENTINES FUNDRAISER IN FLAHIVES

A VALENTINES fundraiser in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation and Tralee Cardiac Rehab Unit will be held on Saturday February 16 in Flahive’s Bar in Ballyheigu­e at 9:30pm.

There will be a monster hamper and lots of spot prizes to be won on the night.

6. VALENTINES DAY COFFEE MORNING FOR UHK

THERE will be a Valentine’s Day coffee morning held in the Gateway Café in the Western Inn, Feale’s Bridge, Abbeyfeale from 11am to 2pm on Friday February 14.

The morning will be in aid of the Chemothera­phy Day Care Centre in UHK.

7. TICKETS ON SALE FOR DIAMOND BALL IN BALLYGARRY

STILL looking for that perfect Valentine’s Day gift?

Pick up a ticket to the upcoming ‘Diamond Ball’ taking place at the Ballygarry House Hotel on February 23.

The night will be held in associatio­n with Enable Ireland Kerry.

8. RENARD GAA HOLDING VARIETY SHOW

RENARD GAA club are hosting a ‘Variety Show’ on February 23 in Foilmore Community Centre.

The show will kick off at 8:30pm. Doors will open at 7:45pm with tickets for adults set to cost just €10 and children, just €5.

9. MEMORIAL WALK TAKING PLACE IN KILCUMMIN

THE second annual memorial fun walk in remembranc­e of Brendan O’Leary, Lyreatough, will take place at 2pm on Sunday February 17.

Registrati­on is €10 with the walk beginning at 1:30pm.

All proceeds from the walk will go be going towards the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends? There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
