DEATH

The death has taken place of Patrick Riordan, Kilnanare. Because of Government/HSE restrictio­ns, a private family funeral took place on Friday last with Requiem Mass in STt Gertrude’s Church, Firies followed by burial in Kilnanare new cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his sister Sheila, sister-in-law Mary, the extended Riordan family, relatives and friends.

As a young man, Patrick trod the boards in amateur drama. He was always entertaini­ng and good company, and was a member of the Pioneer Associatio­n all his life. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Covid 19 return to play The GAA Health Questionna­ire must be filled out by all players (adult) and parents of players (Juvenile) prior to the first training session that you attend. Coiste Na Nog Academy Training returns to the pitch in Farranfore after the Covid Restrictio­ns with U8 and U10 on Saturday next the 4th of July at 10.30. All new player welcome. All players are reminded to bring their own water bottles. Parents are encouraged to drop and go. Remember No membership/No Health Questionna­ire - No play. U6 will return at a later date TBC.

Junior Premier Football Championsh­ip 2020: To remind everyone Firies were drawn in Group 3 of the Junior Premier Championsh­ip with Keel, Listry and Finuge. The re-fixed dates have been published and it will see Firies take on Listry in a neutral venue on the weekend of the 25/26 of July. Depending on this result we take on the other two teams, the following 2 weekend. All venues, times and dates to be confirmed. Top two teams in each group to advance to quarter finals.
